Human Resources Executive (Strategic HR Leadership – National Operations)

About the Role

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an HR Executive who wants to do more than manage processes — but actively shape the future workforce of a growing technical organisation.

You will lead the people strategy that enables the business to scale, solves critical artisan shortages, and builds the leadership capability required for long-term operational success.

What You Will Drive

Build Scarce Skills Pipelines

You will lead the attraction and development of high-demand technical talent, including electricians, HVAC technicians, refrigeration mechanics, and engineers, through strong industry partnerships and training networks.

Develop Future Artisans

You will own apprenticeship and learnership programmes aligned to SETA/MERSETA frameworks, creating structured pathways from entry-level roles to qualified tradespeople.

Build Leaders at Every Level

You will design leadership pipelines for supervisors and middle management, ensuring the organisation has strong, capable leaders as it scales.

Shape the Organisation for Growth

You will drive organisational design, workforce planning, and scalable structures that support expansion and operational efficiency.

Strengthen HR Excellence

You will ensure strong HR governance, compliance, and employee relations while building a high-performing HR team that delivers both strategic and operational value.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experienced HR leader with 8–12 years’ HR experience
  • At least 4–5 years in a senior HR leadership role
  • Strong background in technical / operational industries preferred
  • Deep experience in skills development, apprenticeships, and SETA/MERSETA engagement
  • Strong understanding of South African labour legislation and employee relations
  • Proven ability to build teams, capability, and organisational systems
