Head of Business Development

Purpose of the Role

An established and growing business in the HVAC and building services sector is looking to appoint a Head of Business Development to drive its next phase of growth.

This is a newly created, high-impact role focused on transforming the business from a tender-driven model to a proactive, opportunity-led commercial function, with a strong emphasis on revenue growth, sales pipeline development, and recurring income streams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a group-wide sales strategy aligned to growth targets
  • Build and manage a robust sales pipeline, increasing direct opportunities
  • Drive new business development across developers, property groups, and asset owners
  • Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders including engineers, contractors, and Real Estate Investment Trusts
  • Lead strategic client engagements and pitches
  • Identify and drive cross-selling opportunities across divisions
  • Grow recurring revenue streams (Service Level Agreements and maintenance contracts)
  • Oversee and align marketing strategy to support sales and brand positioning

Minimum Requirements

  • Proven experience in HVAC, building services, or construction
  • Strong track record in business development and revenue generation
  • Demonstrated success in building and converting sales pipelines

Desired Experience

  • Experience with service contracts / recurring revenue models
  • Existing network within developers, property groups, and consulting engineers

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or related field
  • Postgraduate qualification (will be an advantage)
