Our client, a well-known Fruit Packhouse in the Breede Rivier Valley, is seeking to recruit a competent, committed, self-motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our team in the abovementioned position.
This role is responsible for the effective operation of fruit sorting/grading machines to ensure maximum throughput and minimum downtime while adhering to all relevant quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities:
- Efficient operating of fruit & citrus sorting machines.
- Review production schedules, engineering specifications, process lines & flows.
- Calibration and monitoring of sizer scales and cameras.
- Ensure that quality and safety standards are always met.
- Communicate control breakdowns and changeovers (lot-end) to limit downtime.
- Extract and submit sizer reports after every changeover (lot-end) to relevant stakeholders.
- Preventative Maintenance Plan in cooperation with Maintenance department.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent with Mathematics and/or Engineering subjects.
- Demonstrate knowledge of electronic food/fruit sorting machinery and tools including its design, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Diploma in Industrial/Systems Engineering or similar qualification will be advantageous.
- Previous experience in a similar environment (Fruit Packhouse) will be advantageous.
- Experience on MAF RODA/Tomra machines will be advantageous.
