Drive Operational Excellence in a High-Performance Manufacturing Environment
Our client, an established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead production operations within a continuous, high-volume processing environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for an operationally focused professional with strong technical ability and a passion for driving production performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and cost-effective production while leading a disciplined team, optimising plant performance and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all production activities to achieve operational, quality and efficiency targets.
- Plan, coordinate and optimise production across multiple shifts.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve throughput, yield and operational performance.
- Lead and develop production supervisors and production teams.
- Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure production equipment is operated efficiently and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Work closely with Maintenance, Supply Chain and Quality teams to maximise plant performance.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, hygiene, safety and operational discipline.
- Develop and maintain production procedures, risk assessments and operational standards.
- Monitor production KPIs and provide regular operational reporting.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering, Industrial Management, Production Management or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience managing production within a manufacturing environment.
- At least 3 years’ experience leading supervisors within a multi-shift operation.
- Proven ability to optimise production performance in a continuous manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, equipment and operational best practices.
- Experience implementing SOPs, production systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience within one or more of the following industries will be an advantage:
- Manufacturing
- FMCG
- Chemical or industrial processing
- Continuous production environments
